Finally, your little one is here. Those tiny precious features that you just can't get enough of, no matter how long you look.
Every minute and hour that goes by, they are growing and changing with your arms safely wrapped around them. Soon they will be sitting, crawling and walking, and believe me this happens all too fast!

NewBorn Photography
Newborn photography is an art which involves many techniques, such as colour co-ordinating, soothing baby, posing skills & editing.
The session can last up to 3 hours. This is purely because it can just take this amount of time to settle baby, but with my patience and techniques, I can ensure that you'll receive those beautiful images you're after.
Booking:
Its never too early to book, any time after your 20 weeks scan to when the baby is born. Book early to avoid disappointment.
A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure and reserve your session.

Safety
Our tiny, little new babies are the most precious to us, so safety is so important!
I have completed newborn safety posing courses and infant first aid.
Here are some details I would like you to know about our sessions:
I have personally handled and photographed many many babies, I'm and mum of three and an auntie.
Any newborn session is what I call 'baby lead', this means I will follow the flow of your baby and only pose your baby into positions they are comfortable in, as I'm fully aware babies are different.
I will never move baby into a pose if they are uncomfortable or unsettled. All the poses I perform are safe, and baby will not be left in the same position for a long period of time.
Some poses are composites. This means a parent will help to assist by holding the baby gently while I take a photo, or is ready as a spotter to ensure baby doesn't move. I will then edit 2 images together in a photo editing program (photoshop) to create one seamless photo.
Any props that are used, will be weighted down to ensure it doesn't move at all while baby is inside.
I also value and respect the parents wishes, not just with preference to colours or privacy, but with anxiety & emotions whilst I'm around your baby. I completely understand that feeling as a parent experiencing it myself. Im reassuring you that your baby is in caring, understanding hands.

Packages & Prices
Booking.
A 40% deposit is required at the beginning of the booking to secure the date. Final payment is required before or on the day of the session. All the sessions are held in either my home or yours, Ive recently had to move so I'm without my studio space for a short while, I know this isn't very convenient so please ask me any quires you may have. Everything will be prepared and set up/ packed in my car. The session can last up to 3 hours.
All preferences are discussed during the pre-shoot consultation.

3-4 hour session
The sessions usually start at 10:30am.
Sessions are baby-led and I allow plenty of time for feeding and comforting. I only do one newborn session a day, therefore, there will be no rush.
Newborn safety is my top priority. I will not put your baby in any unsafe props or poses.
I have an extensive range of blanket colours, hats and wraps etc which will be discussed before the session, so I can understand your preferences.
During the session it is required to be very warm so that baby is comfortable without clothes on. Dress yourself in layers that can be removed if it gets too hot for you, your welcome to step into the fresh air if needed.
I will be playing white noise from an app in the background to help get baby off and hopefully stay in a deep sleep.
I may ask you to ignore a strict feeding schedule rule for the couple of hours at the session. The only way we will achieve these images is if your baby is happy, full and sleeping deeply.
Most of the poses are of your baby lying on their back or side with either a wrap or your arms around them for maximum happiness and comfort, I will try naked poses if baby is sleepy and content.
Prior to your session, if you can send me a couple (2) of your favourite images from my website. I will have tailored your session around your favourite images, adding a few angle changes, wraps, hats etc to add variety. You will then chose your final favourite 5 images from a password protected online gallery, you have the option to upgrade your image package upon viewing.

The day & After the Session
The balance of the session fee must be paid on the day of your session. Once this has been paid, I will do a light edit of the best images taken on the day, deleting any mis-fires, blinks, unflattering faces etc. Approximately 1-2 days later, you will be sent a link to an online gallery, these images will be almost ‘Straight out of camera’ (unedited). I will do a full edit on a selected few, for you to see how your images will look fully retouched.
From this gallery you will then select your favourite final images. Your welcome to upgrade, 90% of my clients do! I will then send you a final invoice payment for the Images package choice unless this has been previously booked & paid. Once this is paid in full, I will then do the full edit on your photos. This will include complete skin retouching.
If you have given permission, a sneak peak will be posted on social media (Facebook), usually the day after your session.
Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session you will receive notification via email that your images are ready for download. You can then let me know which image numbers you would like for your prints.
Any extra prints or canvases will not be ordered until the extra payment has been received, Thank you.
Frequently Asked Questions!
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes, absolutely! It's vital to not only protect myself but also you, the client too. It should be a necessity for all newborn photographers, unfortunately it is not. Please do check when shopping around for your newborn photographer.
WHAT IS THE PERFCT AGE FOR A NEWBORN SHOOT?
It is best to photograph newborns under 2 weeks of age as they are still sleepy and hold those adorable curly, womb-like poses. All babies are different but I find between 7-21 days, my preferred age is around 2 weeks. I do however, photograph newborns up to 8 weeks. Please bear in mind that after 3/4 weeks babies become less flexible, less sleepy and for longer periods, that said, I do want to reassure you if you're late in booking, we will still capture lovely photos of your baby, I wouldn't want you to miss out on the chance to have them.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY NEWBORN SESSION AND HOW DOES THAT WORK WITH BABIES NOT ARRIVING ON TIME?
It is advisable to book as soon as you can during your pregnancy. I will pre-book 7 days after your due date, this is not your actual date but just a rough guide. I only book 2/3 sessions per week to allow for early and late arrivals and editing time. Once baby arrives, get in touch as soon as you are home and settled, we will then arrange your actual session date.
